In 2020 kai was the theme for Matariki celebrations at the Riverside Te Awa community center. This was an event led by the Auckland City Council and well supported by Friends and many other groups from the wider community. Matariki is an important occasion where the new year is welcomed and Te Umu Kohokohu Whetu sends shared visions and aspirations afar - a blessing to be embraced.
